im so tired of everyone complaining and bitching about 911. first the show never has been, is not, and never will be buddie centric??? so like if you’re only watching for buck and eddie please stop and just read fanfiction instead.
and second of all?? the couch theory??? we saw buck this season saying that he didn’t want to rush and pick out the wrong couch but isn’t that what he character has always done?? because he’s so afraid of being alone?? and yeah, he’s grown a lot since s1 and i’m so emotional just thinking about how far he’s come (like last ep when he took charge! and help saving everyone! that was so good and amazing!) but also he just went through an incredible amount of trauma and he’s still a flawed character (they all are) and he’s still lost and confused.
so yeah, he’s picking ‘the wrong couch’ again. so what?? sometimes you have to pick a lot of wrong couches that are not a good fit for you just to find the right one. and sometimes, SOMETIMES, you may never find the right one. that’s life. that’s love. that’s the highs and lows of picking fucking couches ig.
so yeah anyway, i think that’s are just some of my thoughts from last night and sorry if i’m rambling.

Buck & Natalia in Pay It Forward
9-1-1 ★ 6.18
Buck showed an astronomical amount of growth in this episode, from his leadership skills (601) to his professionalism when delivering a baby (season 1) to his ability to separate himself and give the baby away to his real parents despite his own feelings (the entire donor arc). to say he hasn’t shown any growth because he stayed in a relationship that, up until this point, and despite the audience being able to see thematic clues that it won’t last in the long run, is very new and despite the one hiccup that got resolved with a genuine apology he has not had any reason to turn away from, is a disservice to his character and also just. unfair
the universe is screaming at buck, again

Buck’s spot on Eddie’s couch
“It doesn’t matter.”
A quick thought about That Scene with Marisol.
I initially saw it as the “meet cute” it was framed as. But I can’t help but read into it a little more.
Eddie was staring in front of him, searching for what he needed. He couldn’t find it no matter how hard he looked. Then comes Marisol. Someone Eddie met at a call. Someone Eddie and Buck went above and beyond to help together.
What does Marisol do? She points out that what he needs is right in front of him. She reminds him that even though everything looks like it has the same purpose, there’s one that stands out from the rest—the one he truly needs.
Eddie sees those in front of him better than anyone. He knows how to care for his son, he knows how to care for his teammates, he knows how to care for his friends, his family, even each victim he meets. He has a predetermined idea of how to handle every situation in his life that pertains to those relationships.
So it’s been clouded for him. He sees Buck as all of the above. His teammate, his friend, his family, and most recently, a victim he has to save. He’s so focused on those aspects of Buck that he can’t see how Buck stands out from the rest of crowd. Everyone in his life sits comfortably in their little box, just the way Eddie likes it, but Buck?
Buck isn’t just another teammate, another friend, another member of his family. He’s everything. He’s exactly what Eddie has been looking for to fit in the romantic relationship box. And he’s been right in front of Eddie this whole time. It just took someone else pointing it out for him to see it.
We’ve only seen Chris doing homework or even playing on his computer at tables and desks. For him to be on the couch here has to be purposeful.
Chris in the center, Eddie on the right, and a spot open for Buck on the left.
